The "Leigh Farm / Foxhayes" in Diana underwent an amazing transformation between Episodes 1 and 5. It is clear that the BBC must have sourced a rural cluster of buildings that were scheduled for refurbishment. The farm undergoes a renovation both in the series and in reality. When we first see it in Episode 1 it is a derelict ramshackle with the windows and doors boarded up. In Episode 5 we see Diana's attempt to surprise John by renovating it. It is clear that the BBC chose a farm that was undergoing refurbishment and worked this into the series. They just replaced the real labourers at one point with actors playing "cloth capped crusties" of the period.
I have made some enquiries about the location of this farm. I have learnt that it is somewhere not far from Chagford. As it is a private property I have been unable to obtain a more precise location.
Chagford is only about 4 miles to the south of "The Folly" (Rushford Tower).
The first three screen captures here show the farm in derelict state in Episode 1. The remaining photos show the same farm undergoing a significant refurbishment in Episode 5.
