This scene shows Stephen J. Dean at a churchyard. The location took many hours to acquire. I enlisted the help of several others in the search. Michael G. Hardy (of www.mghardy.co.uk & http://www.laceygreenwindmill.org.uk) located the church with the help of someone who has an amazing knowledge of churches.
The church is St Mary's at Dinton in Wiltshire, mainly dating from the 14th century. It is about 8 miles west of Salisbury. It appears to have only one entrance, unusually on the north side of the Chancel. Another unusual design feature is the central tower. Only a handful of churches in the UK have a central tower.
The tall, tapering cross on the massive plinth is actually further back from the church than it appears in Diana. I can only assume that this is a "trick" of camera perspective.
