Wow, at long last, an official release!! I have to admit I had largely given up on this ever happening.
I think the Rare on TV one has been around a while. It was a video transfer from the original TV series screening.

Simply Home Entertainment are taking pre-orders. I know very little about this company but they appear to be reputable. They are offering free postage in the UK on orders over £33. I dread to ask how much it will cost to have a copy shipped to Australia. You can view a trailer (I would rate it as a good quality restoration, light years ahead of the tv copy that we have all grown accustomed to!): www.simplyhe.com/tv-drama/163495-diana-complete-series-1984.html

I received my copy today. What a treat. I had the 'copied from VHS' version already, which was very wonderfully done, but the quality of this official BBC version is so much better. They even apologize for any imperfections, considering the age/condition of the original tapes. I have just watched episode 1 and it looks fine to me. A big plus are the subtitles (English only) which are quite handy when the actors speak very fast and use dialect. If you haven't got it yet.......
